Les Troglodytes

Il y a plusieurs millions d'années, la mer se retirait de la région de Doué- la- Fontaine.
 La roche coquillère appelée "FALUN" était extraite du sous-sol pour la construction des maisons. Le troglo était né et laissait en témoignage les splendides cathédrales souterraines.

Several million years ago, the sea ebbed progressively away from the Doué -la -Fontaine region. This process caused the apparition of conchiferous rock called "FALUN". This king of rock, extracted from the subsoil, was subsequently used to construct houses. This marked the begining of the troglodyte style which has left us with numerous examples of splendid underground cathedrals. Our restaurant gives you the opportunity to discover a very fine example of this type of site.
